What is Minerva Canada Safety Management Education Inc.?

A non-profit volunteer-run organization, Minerva Canada, aims to be a global leader in health and safety management education by influencing the curriculum of post-secondary institutions to ensure that future business leaders create healthier and safer workplaces.
The only organization of its kind, it:

advocates for increased inclusion of health and safety concepts in business and engineering curricula
educates the educators by providing business and engineering professors and instructors in universities and colleges with practical, curriculum-ready tools and initiatives
forges partnerships with governments, associations and accreditation boards
connects educators with Canada’s business enterprises to learn what industry seeks from new graduates entering the workforce and how health and safety management concepts are being applied in the workplace.

Several of Minerva’s resources and activities are provided free of charge to educators, financially supported by our roster of blue-chip corporate, organizational and government sponsors.

Join us on May 28th for our second webinar of 2024
Minerva’s well attended webinar program in partnership with the Conference Board of Canada continues again in 2024 with the theme of Worker Well-Being and how it impacts on Workplace Safety. Minerva Learning Forum – University of Toronto – May 29th
Minerva is planning its first in person Learning Forum for academia since the pandemic at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Universities and colleges in the Greater Toronto area will be sent an invitation. More details and the Forum agenda will be posted shortly.

Minerva 2024 Rising Star award submissions
Minerva Canada will continue this year with its very successful Rising Star Awards. The nomination and submission process for Minerva Canada’s 2024 Rising Star award is currently underway. You’ll find details on The Minerva Award for Rising Star of the Year including the online nomination, submission form here.
Nominations close on April 19th. Winner will be announced during the Canada’s Safest Employers awards dinner in Toronto on October10 th.

Sign In on the Minerva storefront to access Minerva’s online Health and Safety courses
Interested students, professional association members, and employees whose school or organization does not have a Minerva licensing agreement can now access the four Minerva online courses and its introductory course online – see here for listing of all the courses and its modules.
The process is simple to register for the training – select the course, create an account and pay online, and then start training at your own time and convenience. A certificate is issued upon completion of the training. More details on course fees, discounts, and registration can be found here.
Minerva’s financial sponsors are provided with free access to the courses for a certain number of their employees.

Health and Safety Professionals Canada partners with Minerva Canada
Minerva Canada is pleased to partner with the Health and Safety Professionals Canada (HSPC) in delivering its online Health and Safety courses to its members. See here for more details and how to register. HSPC members will receive a 20% discount on all courses and receive the fourth course free if they decide to work for the H&S certificate by successfully completing all four courses. HSPC members interested in registering for a course should email helpdesk@csse.org to receive their exclusive discount code. Non-HSPC members can also register for the online courses..
