2017 ICBC Finals

Canada’s premier undergraduate business case competition, Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.), will be held at Queen’s University from January 19-21, 2017. Minerva Canada is the Health and Safety Human Resources event sponsor.


2017 Safe Design Awards Contest dates announced
Undergraduate Engineering students enrolled at a Canadian university wishing to enter the 2017 Minerva Safe Design contest should contact Minerva Canada at by February 3, 2017. Final submission date is April 17, 2017. Details on contest rules are outlined here.

Minerva becomes a partner of the Campbell Institute

campbellinstituteMinerva Canada became a partner in 2014 of the Campbell Institute run by the U.S.-based National Safety Council (NSC), Minerva has access to important leading practices in health and safety from Institute members and will be sharing its own Minerva educational programs and activities with NSC members and U.S. universities and colleges.

Congratulations to 2016 winners of Minerva Canada Education Awards of Honour

This year’s recipient, Mr. Bob Masterson, President & CEO, Chemistry Industry Association of Canada, was recognized for his long-standing contributions to advance health and safety education in Canadian post-secondary teaching institutions during the Minerva Sheridan Forum on May 5, 2016. (more)

2016 Business Student Award in Health and Safety – first prize to the University of Regina
Minerva Canada was proud to be the platinum sponsor of a Health and Safety competition during the 2015/2016 Intercollegiate Business School Competitions (ICBC) held at Queens University. In January 2016, members of the Minerva Canada Board of Directors judged the six finalists in the Human Resources Venue that involved the analysis of a case study focused on a struggling small rental company and who experienced two employee fatalities. Minerva Canada wishes to congratulate the student teams from the University of Regina, Queen’s University and Saint Mary’s University for placing in the top three positions respectively within the Human Resources Venue. The ICBC case studies sponsored by Minerva Canada are on this website (see Teaching Resources, Case studies). Minerva Canada plans to continue its sponsorship of ICBC in 2017.
